OB/GYNs in Massachusetts and Rhode Island: Recommendations from Local Moms/Clients

The very first person you call (outside of your husband, best friend, and mom) is your OB/GYN once you find out you’re pregnant. I’ve had two children now and had vastly different experiences with my healthcare team and so I asked anyone and everyone I could in the general Massachusetts and Rhode Island area for recommendations for providers that they personally used and I’ve put together a list for YOU so you don’t have to wonder if you’re choosing the right doctor for you. So I hope this helps you if you are an expecting mom!!

Boston/Metro West Massachusetts

Concord OBGYN

“I went to concord OBGYN and loved them because their practice is mostly midwives and you meet all of them. There are also 2 OBs if you need more intervention, like c section or high risk stuff. They have you deliver at the Clough Birthing Center, which is I guess designed to be smaller and the whole idea is less intervention and as natural as possible, which I loved! But they also have the ability to jump in if you need it and have a level 2 special care nursery all directed by Mass Gen.”

Commonwealth OBGYN in Brookline

This came recommended twice!

“This is where I am going for my pregnancy! I have loved my OB since before and everyone I’ve seen has been so kind, so willing to hear questions, and I’ve never felt rushed!!”

Boston Medical Center

“I go “all the way” from Rhode Island. Their OBGYN department is the best! They will accomodate you for any appointments and are always so kind and open to all the questions.”

Tufts MED OBGYN Braintree

“I love Dr. Joyce. She helped us start our IVF process and found us th perfect clinic. She really listens to your concerns!”

New England OBGYN Associates

“They were amazing! I had borderline preeclampsia and they were so on top of tracking my little one”

Dr. Sarah Ingham at Atrius in Dedham, MA

“The wait times for OB appointments are absolutely criminal because of how understaffed they are but every time I see my OB I remember why it’s worth the wait. I’ve seen just about everyone in OBGYN at Atrius and everyone has been just lovely. I feel so lucky to be seen at this practice. I’ll be delivering with a midwife at Newton Wellesley soon!”

Central Massachusetts

Dr. Jane Molinari

“She just stopped delivering but does general OBGYN still. I changed to her at 16 weeks during my first pregnancy after being super unhappy with my first provider. She was patient, took the time to listen to me and my concerns and didn’t brush them off as oh that’s just normal pregnancy, almost felt like a mother. With my first pregnancy everything was new and I needed to feel coddled a bit, which I did not get with my first provider! I just switched to Dr. Trubiano for my current pregnancy, they claim she is Molinari’s prodigy. So far she has been great, so nonjudgmental, easy to talk to, and taking any concerns I have seriously!” – Local Mass Mom

Central MA OBGYN in Shrewsbury

This came recommended multiple times!

“I’ve seen every provider in the office and they are all so great! I saw the same doctor throuhgout my pregnancies. If she was on vacation or unavailable they would have me see other providers in the office. It was kind of nice because I was familiar with all of the providers so when it was time for labor, I was more comfortable with whoever was on call that day since I had met them prior.”

Dr. Klein

This provider came recommended multiple times!

“Dr Klein in Shrewsbury is amazing – it’s a smaller practice and his staff are great, too. I was seen at 8 weeks for my first in-take. For another pregnancy, I was seen at at 6 weeks since I was so anxious from a previous loss. They are really understanding and caring, great bedside manner.”

Dr. Osterhaus-Houle

“Dr osterhaus-houle is awesome. She was my ob for when I had my baby girl last year. She’s quick and to the point. Doesn’t drag anything out. She’s very friendly.”

Women’s Health of Central MA

This was recommended multiple times!

“Dr Forti at Women’s Health of Central MA. She’s awesome – had best experience and delivery at UMASS Memorial in Feb of this year!”

Rhode Island

Holly Bethod from Center OBGYN

“She doesn’t deliver, but she was PHENOMENAL at my prenatal and postpartum care, especially as I had a lot going on postpartum. She always listens and takes everything I say so seriously. She’s super solution focused and she is a great listener/reassurer during my first pregnancy!”

Midwives at Brown Health OBGYN

“I also where there so I’m a little biased but they’re all so wonderful!!”

Dr. Kara Browning in Providence

“It is a private office that does everything in house so no bouncing around to do labs or ultrasound. Absolutely lovely.”

Women and Infants in Providence

“I see the maternal fetal medicine/high risk doctors for my full pregnancy at Women and Infants. Dr. Victoria Adewale has been amazing!!!”

Venus OBGYN

This provider came recommended multiple times!

“Venus OBGYN, I worked with Jill, Jenna and Fanta. Dr Kader delivers out of Kent and was there for the majority of my induction. Dr Nisbet delivered our daughter at Kent in April.”
