So I graduated in 2020 – that’s right, the peak of Covid-19. Do you think I had a graduation ceremony? Absolutely not. So maybe that’s why grad photos are so incredibly special to me – but I’m here to tell you, that since that time I have taken quite a few grad photos since and I still think that even with a grad ceremony, the photos are the best part! So why is that you ask? Let me tell you.

You didn’t just graduate from preschool, middle school, or even high school (in which you probably had a big party and took senior photos). No, you graduated COLLEGE!!! You have a freaking Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree!!! That is incredible!! You have worked tirelessly balancing it all – extra curricular activities like sororities, or sports, spending time with your friends that you will have for LIFE (more on that later), work, and not to mention studying for the many many tests that college has (I went to college, I am well aware). But you did it!! And it is time to have a little self care, and celebrate YOU!!
I went to college in Utah and grad school in Boston and I still absolutely LOVE going back to visit both of those campuses!! The memories I made in my years at school are so incredible and I am so confident that they will be special to me forever. And guess what? The same goes for you! This school is not just a building you attended, but it is core memories you made in some of the most fun years of your whole life!! Trust me on this, you are going to want to have stunning photos of you at your beautiful campus forever!
The friendships you make in college literally last a lifetime. These girls are going to be your bridesmaids, the ones you go on girls trips with once you all have children and crazy hectic work lives of your own, and the ones that you will remember forever. Trust me when I say, you want one last incredible photo experience together to not only just so you can have beautiful images of all of you, but because spending these last moments together will mean everyone once you’re all out on your own – many will move away and it won’t be the same once college is over so celebrating all that you have been through taking gorgeous pictures and pumping each other up means everything!
Sure anyone can take a photo on their cell phone or on auto mode on a nice camera, but I am here to tell you that only a professional photographer, and might I add someone who has been doing this for 5+ years, knows the ins and outs on how to make your poses look the most flattering, on how to help you feel comfortable and at ease and BEAUTIFUL during your shoot, on knowing where the best lighting is on your campus, on worrying if your tassel is on the right side and what poses look best with graduation caps and gowns or how to do the perfect champagne spray. You just get to come to the shoot, relax, and enjoy taking stunning photos of yourself and your cute friends! One WSU grad I took photos of texted me afterward and said “this was literally a highlight of my college experience” – and I want this for you too!
Bring those cheer pom poms, those sorority stoles, those special pins, or anything else that shows off how amazing and hard working you are and have been for the past four years at your college!! This is the time to celebrate YOU and I am going to document everything that made your college experience special! It is literally the one time in your life that you get to celebrate how brilliant and spectacular you are so own it!! Enjoy it right alongside your girls and have the best time celebrating in the best way I know how – with confidence building photo experiences!!
