The first hours after your baby arrives are quiet, emotional, and unlike anything else. As a Newton-Wellesley Hospital Fresh 48 photographer, I document those early moments with natural, in-hospital newborn photography that feels calm, honest, and deeply personal.
From the way your baby curls into your chest to the soft light in your hospital room, these are the details that pass quickly — and deserve to be remembered.
Fresh 48 sessions take place within the first 24–48 hours after birth, allowing you to preserve the very beginning of your baby’s story.
Fresh 48 photography is a newborn session that takes place at the hospital shortly after your baby is born.
There are no props or posed setups. Instead, the focus is on real moments:
• your baby’s first stretches
• the hospital bracelet
• the way you hold them
• siblings meeting the baby
• the quiet in-between moments
As a Fresh 48 photographer at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, I approach these sessions gently and without interruption, so you can simply be present with your baby.
Newton-Wellesley Hospital is a beautiful place to welcome your baby. The maternity suites are filled with soft natural light, creating a peaceful environment for newborn photography.
Many families choose a Fresh 48 session here to capture:
• their baby’s first hours
• the feeling of the hospital stay
• the beginning of their family’s next chapter
These images often become some of the most meaningful photographs you’ll have.
While the images shown here are from Fresh 48 sessions photographed at a variety of hospitals, they reflect the same natural, in-hospital approach I bring to every session — including those at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
Fresh 48 sessions are designed to be simple and relaxed.
Once your baby arrives, you’ll reach out and we’ll schedule your session within the first day or two. I’ll come to your hospital room and photograph your family in a natural, unobtrusive way.
There’s no need to prepare anything. Your baby is perfect exactly as they are.
Sessions typically last 45–60 minutes and are guided by your baby’s needs and your comfort.
In addition to photography, I also offer Fresh 48 films for families who want to preserve these moments in motion.
While photos capture the details, film captures the feeling — your baby stretching, the way you instinctively hold them, the quiet rhythm of those first hours together.
These short films are created during your session and become a timeless way to revisit the day your baby arrived.
A Fresh 48 session captures the emotion of the hospital experience, while an in-home newborn session tells the story of life once you’re home.
Your in-home session typically takes place within the first two weeks and captures relaxed, natural moments in your nursery and throughout your home.
Together, these sessions create a complete story of your baby’s beginning.
I am based in Franklin, MA and regularly photograph families at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and throughout the MetroWest area.
If you’re looking for a Wellesley newborn photographer, you can learn more about my in-home sessions here.
Fresh 48 sessions are typically booked during pregnancy to ensure availability around your due date.
Because these sessions take place shortly after birth, I accept a limited number each month to provide a calm and flexible experience for every family.
If you’re expecting and planning to deliver at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, I would love to help you preserve these first moments.
